Split-flap departures
A travel ad on a departures board. Every flap is a window into your footage and the board flips through destinations to your offer on the beat.

What Vidova will do
Make a 16-second, 16:9 ad for my travel agency on a departures board. Fill the frame with split-flap tiles where every flap is a window into live footage of a destination. Flip the board on every bar of the song through four destination names to my offer. Then let the whole board fall open as one giant flap onto my hero destination, and spell my brand with a strip of flaps. Footage: I attach six wide destination shots with big, clear shapes: the Alps, a surfer at sunset in Bali, karst islands at sunset, a coastal mountain road, peaks above the clouds, and a boat on a turquoise bay for the end. Look: Cover the whole frame with 16 columns and 7 rows of flaps, with dark gaps between them and a dark hinge across the middle of each flap. Together the flaps show one shot as a mosaic. Shade them like plastic, a little lighter at the top and darker at the bottom. Write the names on the middle row in tall warm white capitals (Oswald), one letter per flap, on flaps dimmed to half so the letters read. Grade every shot with a little more contrast and saturation. Flips: Every flap flips in real 3D. Its top half falls over the hinge, its free edge swings toward the lens, it darkens as it turns, and it lands as the next bottom half. Each change runs as a wave across the board, from the left and out from the middle row. The lettered flaps clatter through a few random letters before they land. Push the whole board in slowly. Boards: At 0 seconds, the board flips in from black to ZERMATT over the Alps. At 2 seconds, it flips to BALI over the surfer. At 4 seconds, HALONG BAY over the islands. At 6 seconds, BIG SUR over the road. At 8 seconds, the offer on two rows, 4 NIGHTS and FROM €399, over the peaks. At 11.4 seconds, the whole top half of the board falls as one giant flap, slow off the hinge and fast onto the bottom, with the boat on the bay on its back. It lands at 12 seconds, and the bay fills the frame while it keeps pushing in slowly. At 12.45 seconds, a short strip of black flaps clatters in on the lower third and spells my brand, NORTHLINE. Sound: Use a steady, upbeat travel pop track around 118 bpm, with its bars on 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 seconds. Put a fast ratchet clatter on every board, like real flaps. Before the giant flap lands, add a riser and an air fall, and land it with a heavy slam on the downbeat. Add one more clatter for the brand strip. Fade the music out over the last 1.2 seconds.
