Video resizer for 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9

Drop a video and pick a shape: 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, 1:1 or 4:5 for feed posts, or 16:9 for YouTube. Fill the frame and drag the crop, or fit the whole picture with bars. The resizer runs in your browser, so the video never leaves your device.

It stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

How to resize a video

  1. Add your video

Drop a video in the box above, or choose the file. MP4, MOV and WebM videos work in most browsers.

  2. Pick the shape

Choose 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 or 16:9. The preview shows the new frame with your video in it.

  3. Fill or fit

Fill and crop fills the whole frame and cuts the parts that do not fit. Drag the video in the preview to choose what stays, or centre it again. Fit with bars keeps the whole picture and puts black bars around it.

  4. Resize and download

Press the Resize button. The tool writes a new MP4 file and shows it. Play it to check it, then download it.

Frequently asked questions

Is my video uploaded?

No. The resizer reads and writes the video in your browser. Nothing is sent to Vidova or anywhere else.

What size is the new video?

9:16 is 1080 × 1920, 1:1 is 1080 × 1080, 4:5 is 1080 × 1350 and 16:9 is 1920 × 1080. A smaller video is scaled up to that size.

Which shape do I need?

TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and Stories play 9:16 full screen. Feed posts on Instagram and Facebook take 1:1 or 4:5, and 4:5 fills more of a phone screen. YouTube and most players on a computer use 16:9.

Should I fill or fit?

Fill when the subject is in one part of the frame, for example a person in the middle of a wide shot. Fit when every part of the picture matters, for example a screen recording or a slide.

Does it keep the sound?

Yes. The sound is kept. The picture is encoded again at high quality in the new size, as an MP4 file.
