Trim and cut video

Drop a video, drag the start and the end on the bar, and download the part between them as an MP4 file. The trimmer runs in your browser, so the video never leaves your device.

Drop a video to trim

It stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

How to trim a video

  1. Add your video

Drop a video in the box above, or choose the file. MP4, MOV and WebM videos work in most browsers.

  2. Mark the part to keep

Drag the start handle to the first moment you want and the end handle to the last. The player shows the frame under each handle. You can also play the video, pause it, and set the start or the end at the playhead.

  3. Trim and download

Press the Trim button. The tool writes the part as a new MP4 file and shows it. Play it to check it, then download it.

Frequently asked questions

Is my video uploaded?

No. The trimmer reads and writes the video in your browser. Nothing is sent to Vidova or anywhere else.

Does trimming lower the quality?

A part that starts at 0:00 keeps the original picture and sound, copied as they are. A part that starts later is encoded again at high quality, so it starts on the exact frame you picked.

How exact is the cut?

The tool shows the start and the end to a tenth of a second. Focus a handle and use the arrow keys to move it by 0.1 seconds, or hold Shift to move it by a second.

Which files can I trim?

Any video your browser can play, up to 2 GB. The result is always an MP4 file.

Can I cut out a part in the middle?

This tool keeps one part of the video. To remove a part from the middle and join the rest, use the box under the tool: describe the cut, and the Vidova editor makes it.
