Clipchamp on a Mac
Clipchamp has no Mac app. Microsoft's help center says that on a Mac, the editor runs in the latest desktop version of Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. Safari and Firefox are not supported. Microsoft recommends at least 8 GB of RAM, and 16 GB or more is better.
The Clipchamp desktop app is for Windows 10 and Windows 11. The editor does not run in phone or tablet browsers. Microsoft ended support for the Clipchamp iOS app on June 9, 2026, and points people to the web app on a computer for new projects.
Vidova's editor runs in the browser on a Mac and on a phone. A desktop app for Mac, Windows and Linux records the screen and edits locally. Vidova has no Android app. On Android, it works in the browser.
Editing by hand or with an agent
Clipchamp is a manual editor. You arrange clips on a timeline and add text, overlays, filters and stock media. Its AI tools each do one job: autocaptions, text to speech, silence removal, background noise removal and image background removal. Auto compose turns your photos and videos into a first draft that you can open on the timeline. In Clipchamp for work, Copilot drafts a video from a prompt with a script, an AI voiceover and stock footage.
In Vidova, you describe the video in chat. The agent cuts, trims, captions and arranges your own clips on a multitrack timeline. It can cut on the beat, slow footage down with AI frame interpolation, reframe 16:9 to 9:16 by tracking a face and cut a person out with no green screen. Before it hands the cut over, it previews frames and runs a quality check on the film. You keep, change or undo each edit.
